Idaho Legislature To Weigh 2-Year Wind Farm Moratorium

Law360, New York (February 24, 2012, 2:58 PM EST) -- A bill that would put a two-year moratorium on new wind projects in Idaho narrowly made its way out of committee in the state's legislature Thursday and is headed to the full floor for a vote, the latest development in a looming showdown over wind power in the Gem State.

The bill's sponsor, Rep. Erik Simpson, blamed the industry for increasing costs on utilities and power customers, endangering local wildlife and driving down property values.
