Chevron Delays Nigeria Gas Plant Expansion For 3 Years

Law360, New York (February 24, 2012, 6:36 PM EST) -- Chevron Corp. will delay for three years the expansion of a natural gas processing plant in Nigeria that commercializes gas from crude oil production, the energy giant confirmed on Friday.

In its annual report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday, Chevron said the next phase of its Escravos Gas Plant project wouldn't be completed until 2016. The company had previously said the project would be completed in 2013.

The company didn't provide a reason for the delay Friday.
