ITC To Review Failure To Ban Infringing Circuit Breakers

Law360, New York (February 27, 2012, 7:10 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission gave a second wind to electrical wiring company Leviton Manufacturing Co.'s patent infringement suit over circuit breakers, saying in Monday's federal register it would review an administrative ruling that failed to ban infringing products.

The suit, brought by Leviton in September 2010, alleges that several Chinese manufacturers and U.S. distributors of ground fault circuit interrupters — which are used in electrical outlets to prevent shocks — infringed three of Leviton's patents covering the technology, the ITC said.
