Identity Theft Tops FTC Consumer Complaints For 2011
The agency said that of more than 1.8 million complaints filed in 2011, 15 percent were for identity theft. Nearly a quarter of the total complaints related to government document fraud. Credit card fraud and phone or utility fraud were next on the list.
