FTC OKs New Compliance Program For Online Kid Protection

Law360, New York (February 28, 2012, 7:35 PM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission said Friday it would allow an Aristotle International Inc. program to establish children's online privacy guidelines and oversee compliance with those guidelines, making Aristotle just the fifth organization to win safe harbor under an agency rule.

The FTC approved Aristotle as a safe harbor program under the terms of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998. Aristotle joins approved safe harbor programs TRUSTe, Privo Inc., the Children's Advertising Review Unit of the Better Business Bureau, and the Entertainment Software Rating Board....
