US Trade Rep Ordered To Turn Over FTAA Doc

Law360, New York (March 1, 2012, 3:30 PM EST) -- A Washington federal judge on Wednesday ordered the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative to hand over a document involving investment issues with the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas to the Center for International Environmental Law.

Richard W. Roberts granted the CIEL’s cross motion for summary judgment, saying the USTR had not sufficiently demonstrated that the disclosure of the document would harm U.S. interests, rejecting the government's third attempt to prevent its disclosure.
