Russia, Belarus Resolve Gas Dispute

Law360, New York (August 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has canceled an emergency meeting of its energy group after Belarus and Russia took initial steps toward resolving their spat over natural gas payments.

Regulators said on Friday that the Commission had abandoned plans to convene the Gas Coordination Group in order to discuss the impact of the possible shutdown on European Union customers.
