Mont. Judge Under Investigation For Sending Racist Email

Law360, New York (March 1, 2012, 8:05 PM EST) -- The chief judge of the Montana federal court is under investigation by the Ninth Circuit for judicial misconduct after he admitted to sending a racially charged email about President Barack Obama, and several groups called for his resignation Thursday.

The Ninth Circuit said Thursday that U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull asked the court to initiate the process of bringing a complaint of judicial misconduct against him after he admitted Wednesday to forwarding a racist email about the president to friends from his office computer.
