Immersion Says HTC Phones Flout Touchscreen Patents

Law360, New York (March 5, 2012, 5:46 PM EST) -- Software maker Immersion Corp. claims that smartphones made by HTC Corp. and several subsidiaries infringe six of its patents for touchscreen technology in a suit filed Friday in Delaware federal court.

HTC's Rezound, Rhyme, EVO 3D, Amaze 4G, ThunderBolt, MyTouch 4G Slide, Vivid and Jetstream smartphones use Immersion's patented haptic feedback technology, which, among other things, allows touchscreen devices to vibrate in response when a user clicks a button, according to the complaint.
