Lexmark Buys Data Capture Co. Brainware For $148M

Law360, New York (March 5, 2012, 4:52 PM EST) -- Software and printing company Lexmark International Inc. has purchased intelligent data capture software provider Brainware Inc. along with its parent BDGB Enterprise for about $148 million in cash, Lexmark announced Monday.

Brainware, the U.S. subsidiary of Luxembourg-based BDGB and a Vista Equity Partners portfolio company, will become a part of Lexington, Ky.-based Lexmark's stand-alone business unit Perceptive Software, broadening Lexmark's product offerings, the company said.
