Zingers Fly As House Closes In On Medicare Board Repeal

Law360, New York (March 5, 2012, 7:31 PM EST) -- A Democratic think tank praised the Independent Payment Advisory Board as “essential” Monday ahead of a U.S. House of Representatives committee vote to repeal the board, as detractors upped their rhetoric and claimed that the Medicare-cost-cutting panel could become “the most corrupt entity in Washington.”

The House Energy and Commerce Committee will vote Tuesday on a bill repealing the board, which was created by the president's health care reform law, and is expected to approve the bill with bipartisan support.
