Repeal Of Medicare Cost Board Zipping Along In House

Law360, New York (March 6, 2012, 2:04 PM EST) -- The U.S. House of Representatives moved closer Tuesday to repealing a controversial Medicare-cost-cutting panel created by the health care reform law, with a key committee easily approving the repeal bill and House leadership predicting a floor vote within weeks.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee approved the bill to repeal the Independent Payment Advisory Board in a voice vote Tuesday morning, as expected. The next vote is scheduled for Thursday morning in the Ways and Means Committee, which shares Medicare jurisdiction with Energy and Commerce....
