France Fines Endive Growers €4M Over Price-Fixing Scheme

Law360, New York (March 6, 2012, 6:09 PM EST) -- A group of French endive growers and trade organizations has been fined nearly €4 million ($5.2 million) for price fixing over a 14-year stretch of time, France's antitrust watchdog said Tuesday.

The wide-ranging cartel has affected all French endive production in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy regions, and to a lesser extent Brittany, where most of French endive production is concentrated, according to the Autorite de la concurrence.
