Covington & Burling Escapes Ex-Atty's Race Bias Suit

Law360, New York (March 7, 2012, 4:52 PM EST) -- A Washington federal judge on Tuesday tossed a black ex-Covington & Burling LLP staff attorney’s suit alleging the firm discriminated against her based on race and then terminated her employment as retaliation for complaining, saying she failed to back up her claims. 

U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton granted the firm’s motion for summary judgment, saying plaintiff Yolanda Young failed to provide any evidence that would lead a reasonable jury to find she was treated less favorably because of her race.
