House Agrees To Consider $109B Senate Transport Bill

Law360, New York (March 8, 2012, 7:30 PM EST) -- Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-Ohio, conceded Thursday that after another failed effort to push along a stalled $260 billion transportation infrastructure bill, the House will take up the Senate's $109 billion version next week.

Despite House Republicans crying foul and his own disagreements over proposed amendments to the bill, Boehner said he would bring the Senate's two-year measure up for a floor vote after failing to find bipartisan support for the House's more expansive five-year measure to reauthorize and fund the nearly insolvent Highway...
