Travelers Calls Welding Products Co.'s Suit Premature

Law360, New York (March 9, 2012, 4:43 PM EST) -- Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. and a fellow umbrella insurer sought Thursday to end The Lincoln Electric Co.'s lawsuit in Ohio federal court demanding coverage of injury claims stemming from Lincoln's welding products, arguing their policies hadn't kicked in.

Lincoln Electric sued Travelers and St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Co. in October over coverage under umbrella policies of lawsuits alleging that users of Lincoln's welding products were injured through exposure to toxic substances.
