Fed Set To Unveil Bank Stress Test Results

Law360, New York (March 12, 2012, 7:08 PM EDT) -- The Federal Reserve will reveal on Thursday the results of the latest stress test conducted on 19 top U.S. banks to determine their ability to withstand a global economic downturn, the central bank said Monday.

The test, which is part of the Fed’s Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review program and was unveiled in November, looks at how 19 U.S. banks would perform during a severe American recession combined with global economic contraction, including a peak unemployment rate of 13 percent, a 50 percent drop in equity...
