Reid Promises Vote On Obama's Judicial Nominees

Law360, New York (March 13, 2012, 6:50 PM EDT) -- Debate over the Republicans' filibuster of more than 20 judicial nominees continued Tuesday on the Senate floor, after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., announced that he would force the Senate to vote on confirmation for 17 federal district judicial nominees.

Reid defended his decision, announced Monday, to file cloture on 17 of the 22 filibustered nominees who have been waiting for confirmation since as far back as October, although appellate judicial nominees are still in danger of a continuing filibuster.
