Total, Inpex $34B LNG Project Clears Final Hurdle

Law360, New York (March 14, 2012, 3:56 PM EDT) -- The Australian government has granted production licenses for the Ichthys subsea liquefied natural gas project, a $34 billion joint venture between Japan's Inpex Corp. and French oil giant Total SA, Inpex said Wednesday.

The project, which will tap a deepwater gas field off Australia's northern coast, now has all the government approvals it needs to move forward, Inpex said. The project already had environmental approval and pipeline licenses.
