Judge Gives GCC Alliance Probation For Concrete Price-Fixing

Law360, New York (March 15, 2012, 4:20 PM EDT) -- An Iowa federal judge on Wednesday imposed an unusual sentence on GCC Alliance Concrete Inc. for its participation in a price-fixing scheme to increase prices of ready-mix concrete, ordering the company to perform antitrust compliance training as community service. 

U.S. District Judge Mark W. Bennett ordered a high-level GCC Alliance employee or executive to present antitrust compliance programs at a minimum of three trade conferences within the next 18 months, saying the probation would likely act as a strong deterrent for others in the industry. ...
