House To Push Its Own Version Of Sprawling Highway Bill

Law360, New York (March 15, 2012, 8:14 PM EDT) -- Members of the U.S. House of Representatives have not yet given up on their own version of a stalled $260 billion transportation infrastructure and energy bill, a spokesman for the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee told Law360 on Thursday.

“Right now, the House leadership and Rep. John Mica [R-Fla.] are all working to pass the H.R. 7 bill,” Jim Coon, staff director for the committee, told Law360. Committee Chairman Mica is sponsoring the five-year bill, which is competing with a two-year, $109 billion Senate version. The...
