Pennsylvania Jury Sides With Atmel In Agere Patent Suit

Law360, New York (March 23, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Pennsylvania federal jury has cleared chipmaker Atmel Corp. of liability in rival Agere Systems’ patent infringement lawsuit over processes used by the Tungsten handheld, Atmel said Wednesday.

The lawsuit, filed in 2002 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, accused Atmel of infringing three patents related to Tungsten processes as well as a patent related to integrated circuit packages.
