EU Agrees To Free Trade Deal With Peru, Colombia

Law360, New York (March 16, 2012, 3:03 PM EDT) -- The European Union on Friday reached a deal to approve a free trade pact with Colombia and Peru meant to remove tariffs and other trade barriers and put the South American countries on level footing with the U.S.

The Council of the EU said daylong talks in Brussels had resulted in a “political agreement” to sign a provisional version of a free trade deal with the South American countries that's been in the works since 2009.
