Sens. Push For Stalled FDA Rule On Device ID System

Law360, New York (March 16, 2012, 5:13 PM EDT) -- A group of U.S. Senators on Thursday tried to speed the release of a long-stalled U.S. Food and Drug Administration rule governing a medical device tracking system, introducing legislation that would require the rule to be in place by the end of the year.

The bill would require the FDA to release a final rule on the unique device identifier, or UDI, by the end of 2012.
