Governors Coalition Tells Obama To Ease Offshore Rules

Law360, New York (March 16, 2012, 7:59 PM EDT) -- Seven governors from coastal states are calling on the Obama administration to relax regulations they say have sapped permitting for offshore oil and gas exploration and cut off certain areas to new leasing.

In a letter dated March 13 and made public Friday, the Outer Continental Shelf Governors Coalition urged President Barack Obama and several agency heads to speed up permitting and open new offshore land for traditional and renewable energy projects.
