Lawmakers Urge Action On China's Auto Parts Policies

Law360, New York (March 16, 2012, 6:06 PM EDT) -- Nearly 200 lawmakers on Friday denounced China’s “predatory and protectionist” practices in the auto parts sector and asked President Barack Obama to take steps to roll back the measures.

Signed mostly by Democratic senators and representatives, the letter takes aim at the “vast array of policies China’s government uses to advantage its producers.” Those policies include subsidies and restrictions on imports that the 188 lawmakers say pose a risk to the recovering domestic manufacturing sector.
