Federal Plan To Share Health Insurance Risk Is Released

Law360, New York (March 16, 2012, 7:02 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Friday released a final rule that will help allocate risk among health insurance providers as provisions of the health care reform act go into effect beginning in 2014.

The rule implements the final designs for risk adjustment, reinsurance and risk corridor programs meant to keep costs for insurers stable as new rules under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act go into effect.
