IDB, JICA Pledge Up To $600M For Green Energy Projects

Law360, New York (March 16, 2012, 5:36 PM EDT) -- The Inter-American Development Bank and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, an organization for global development, will provide up to $600 million for renewable energy projects in Central America and the Caribbean over the next five years, the groups said Friday.

The IDB said the two organizations agreed to a funding system with both joint co-financing and separate financing schemes. The projects will be in the areas of alternative, green energy as well as energy-efficiency projects to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change, it said....
