Sprint Facing Heightened Bankruptcy Risk, Report Says

Law360, New York (March 19, 2012, 6:48 PM EDT) -- Sprint Nextel Corp. faces a legitimate threat of bankruptcy in the coming years due to a burdensome contract with Apple Inc. and looming debt obligations, according to an industry research note that on Monday raised the specter of another major restructuring in the technology industry.

The report by AllianceBernstein LP research analyst Craig Moffett did not predict a Sprint bankruptcy filing outright, but said one was possible over the next four years. Sprint is beset by a $15.5 billion phone-selling contract with Apple, significant market disadvantages...
