Deutsche Boerse Will Fight EU Over Nixed $10B NYSE Deal

Law360, New York (March 19, 2012, 9:43 PM EDT) -- Deutsche Boerse AG reportedly said Monday that it will file a legal challenge to the European Commission's recent decision blocking its $9.7 billion merger with NYSE Euronext Inc. because of competition worries.

The German exchange said it believes several parts of the commission's decision were inaccurate, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

A representative for Deutsche Boerse was not immediately available for comment Monday. A NYSE Euronext spokesman said the company had not yet made a formal decision and declined to comment....
