Trustee Appointed To Oversee Mittal Mill Sale

Law360, New York (August 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has appointed a trustee to ensure that Mittal Steel Co. NV sells a tin mill as part of an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice to meet antitrust regulations.

U.S. District Judge Ellen S. Huvelle on Tuesday granted the DOJ's motion to appoint Joseph G. Krauss as trustee after Mittal failed to sell its Sparrows Point facility near Baltimore, Md. by an Aug. 6 deadline. Krauss has the power and authority to sell the business and select an appropriate buyer.
