FTC Settles Price-Fixing Case With 2nd Pipe Fitter Co.

Law360, New York (March 20, 2012, 2:59 PM EDT) -- Iron products maker Star Pipe Products Ltd. has agreed to settle charges brought by the Federal Trade Commission that it conspired with two other manufacturers to increase the prices at which ductile iron pipe fittings were sold nationwide, the FTC said on Tuesday.

The settlement resolves allegations by the FTC that beginning in 2008, Star participated in an illegal conspiracy with rivals McWane Inc. and Sigma Corp. to fix the price of imported ductile iron pipe fittings sold in the U.S., the FTC said.
