FDA Sues Iowa Dairy Over Drugged Beef

Law360, New York (August 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday accused an Iowa dairy farm of selling culled dairy cows for meat processing even though they had illegal amounts of antibiotics in their systems.

The agency filed a complaint and consent decree for a permanent injunction in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa against Ysselstein Dairy Inc. of Rock Valley Iowa, and its owner and president, Sjerp W. Ysselstein.

Ysselstein Dairy produces both dairy milk and dairy cows to be slaughtered for human consumption....
