Staying On Track With Reliability Compliance

Law360, New York (March 26, 2012, 1:30 PM EDT) -- Under procedures approved by the federal government on March 15, 2012, the North American Electric Reliability Corp. (NERC) may process minor violations of its mandatory and enforceable reliability standards expeditiously and without monetary penalty.

NERC’s “Find, Fix, Track and Report” (FFT) process, approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in a March 15 order, should thus be welcome news to electric utilities, owners and operators of transmission and generation facilities, and other regulated entities.
