Judge Delays Hearing On Dura's Backstop Spat

Law360 (August 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal bankruptcy judge has given Dura a little more time to persuade opponents of the proposed backstop rights purchase agreement to get on board, temporarily shelving an emergency motion filed by unsecured creditors urging the court to reject the deal.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Carey decided on Thursday to continue the hearing regarding the creditors' emergency motion until Aug. 14 amid Dura's claim that a global settlement between the warring parties is already in the works.
