Sessions Blocks Vote To Air High Court Health Law Debate

Law360, New York (March 21, 2012, 10:24 PM EDT) -- Alabama Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions on Wednesday blocked a bipartisan attempt to pass a bill that would force the U.S. Supreme Court to televise oral arguments, essentially ensuring that the bill will not pass in time for next week's arguments in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Sessions objected to a call for unanimous consent by Dick Durbin, D-Ill., to vote on the Cameras in the Courtroom Act, which would allow television cameras in the nation's highest court.
