Wachtell Aids NEC With $450M Convergys Unit Buy

Law360, New York (March 22, 2012, 1:22 PM EDT) -- Japanese consumer electronics firm NEC Corp. plans to pick up the information management business of Ohio-based Convergys Corp. for $449 million, as part of its continued efforts to expand its presence abroad, the company announced Thursday.

The deal will give NEC, which has been struggling to grow at home, several of Convergys' prized business support system products, which will be fused into Massachusetts-based NetCracker Technology Corp., a subsidiary NEC acquired in 2008, it said.
