House Committee To Mull Subpoenas For Obama Energy Docs

Law360, New York (March 23, 2012, 6:35 PM EDT) -- The House Natural Resources committee chair on Thursday criticized the Obama administration for withholding documents in the committee’s probe into coal and oil drilling policies the administration recommended, saying the committee will consider issuing subpoenas to the U.S. Interior Department for the documents.

In a letter to the committee, chairman Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., claimed that the administration’s reluctance to hand over documents has stalled two ongoing investigations, one relating to the administration’s rewrite of 2008 Stream Buffer Zone Rule to limit the potential environmental impacts...
