Hitachi, Samsung Can't Dodge Nokia's LCD Antitrust Claims

Law360, New York (March 23, 2012, 2:49 PM EDT) -- A U.K. court on Friday refused to toss antitrust claims against Hitachi Europe Ltd. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. in a case brought by Nokia Corp. accusing Hitachi, Samsung and others of being part of a cartel that drove up prices for liquid crystal display screens.

Samsung and Hitachi both sought to have claims against them “struck out,” and Hitachi also asked for summary judgment, but the court concluded that “the strike out applications and summary judgment application fall to be dismissed.”
