UK Pushes For More Protections In Structured Products

Law360, New York (March 23, 2012, 2:21 PM EDT) -- The U.K.'s top financial services watchdog on Friday said that firms should properly market structured investment products to retail investors so they know the potential risks, and stress test those products to make sure that they are appropriate for the targeted investors.

In a final guidance, the U.K. Financial Services Authority said that firms involved in selling structured investment products to the public were more concerned with their market position and other commercial interests than in appropriately designing those products.
