Belgian Competition Commission To Investigate Suez

Law360, New York (August 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- French utility Suez SA will soon have yet another antitrust investigation on its hands, after Belgium's energy minister asked the member state's Competition Commission to take take a closer look at pricing policies at the electricity company's Electrabel unit.

Minister for Energy Marc Verwilghen has asked the competition authority to investigation pricing at Electrabel in the wake of a study that revealed the company may be engaging in predatory pricing, the daily newspaper L'Echo reported on Monday.
