CIT Finds For Target In Gazebo Import Dispute

Law360, New York (March 23, 2012, 6:19 PM EDT) -- The Court of International Trade issued an order on Thursday finding in favor of Target Corp. in a dispute over whether gazebos imported by the company from China should be classified as tents and carry a tariff.

Senior Judge Thomas J. Aquilino, Jr. ruled that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection erred when it classified five of Target’s gazebo models as tents and imposed a 8.8 percent duty on the shipments.
