Apple Says Kodak Pilfered Digital Camera IP

Law360, New York (March 26, 2012, 1:41 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc. fired back Friday at bankrupt Eastman Kodak Co.'s allegations that its tablets and smartphones infringe five Kodak digital imaging patents, telling the U.S. International Trade Commission that Kodak misappropriated Apple technology from their digital camera collaboration in the 1990s.

Kodak filed a complaint with the ITC on Jan. 10, accusing Apple, HTC Corp. and HTC subsidiary Exedea Inc. of violating Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by importing camera-equipped smartphones and tablets into the U.S. that infringe the patents-in-suit.
