Wyo. Groups Fight Trade Secret Exemptions For Fracking

Law360, New York (March 26, 2012, 5:50 PM EDT) -- Four citizens' organizations filed suit against Wyoming's oil and gas regulator Monday, alleging it improperly exempted Halliburton Energy Services Inc. and several other companies from having to disclose all the chemicals they use in hydraulic fracturing operations.

Led by the Powder River Basin Resource Council, the groups claim the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission granted fracking product manufacturers unjustified trade secret exemptions, allowing them to withhold information about certain chemicals they say should have been made public.
