China's Thievery, Trade Policies Hurt US, Experts Say

Law360, New York (March 28, 2012, 2:29 PM EDT) -- Experts on Wednesday told the House Committee on Foreign Affairs that the “toxic” trade relationship between the U.S. and China, as well as China’s theft of American companies’ trade secrets, posed significant risks to the country’s security and economic strength.

The committee called a hearing Tuesday to investigate the level of threat posed by China’s military and economic aggression. In opening comments, committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., highlighted China’s ongoing efforts to advance its global position by any means necessary.
