Samsung Unit Takes Minority Stake In $7.9B UK Power Project

Law360, New York (March 28, 2012, 4:14 PM EDT) -- South Korean construction giant Samsung C&T Corp., a Samsung Group subsidiary, has purchased a 15 percent stake in a $7.9 billion U.K. power plant project from 2Co Energy Ltd., the companies said in a joint statement Wednesday.

Samsung C&T said it had acquired a minority stake in the Don Valley Power Project, a 650-megawatt carbon capture and storage development, or CSS, in South Yorkshire.
