Colo. County Approves 200-MW Solar Project

Law360, New York (March 28, 2012, 6:31 PM EDT) -- Solar farm developer SolarReserve LLC has cleared a major hurdle to its planned development of two 100-megawatt solar thermal energy facilities in Center, Colo., with the Saguache County Board of Commissioners' approval of a permit to use private land, the company said Wednesday.

The Saguache Solar Energy Project is expected to power more than 140,000 homes during peak electricity periods, using molten salt energy storage technology that would allow for the generation of twice as much electricity as would come from comparably sized photovoltaic or direct...
