Yahoo To Debut Do-Not-Track Tool By Summer

Law360, New York (March 29, 2012, 3:37 PM EDT) -- Yahoo Inc. said Thursday that it would make a do-not-track mechanism available across its global network by early summer to allow customers to opt out of receiving specially tailored ads.

The company said it had been working since last year to develop a do-not-track header solution for its users. Its announcement came days after the Federal Trade Commission released a privacy report commending the online industry for its progress in establishing do-not-track tools.
