PepsiCo Gets $1.3B Bottled Water Trade Secret Case Canned

Law360, New York (March 29, 2012, 4:01 PM EDT) -- A Wisconsin appeals court upheld a decision Thursday to vacate a $1.26 billion default judgment against PepsiCo Inc. and rejected a bid to revive a trade secret case from two men who claimed PepsiCo stole their idea for a bottled water product.

Charles Joyce and James Voigt, who claimed they discussed their idea for a bottled water product called "Ultra-Pure" with representatives from licensed PepsiCo manufacturers and distributors in 1981, argued unsuccessfully that a lower court erred by concluding that their trade secret and contract claims...
