FDA To Give Drugmakers Leeway On ACA Reporting Deadline

Law360, Los Angeles (March 29, 2012, 6:21 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration released draft guidance Thursday saying it would give drug manufacturers additional time to comply with guidelines under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requiring them to send additional information about drug samples they give to doctors.

Under the Affordable Care Act, drugmakers are required to submit by April 1 information detailing the type and quantity of drugs doctors are requesting, according to the draft issued by the FDA and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
